Napier Rock Climbing Club is a recently established club at Edinburgh Napier University.
We started climbing in 2014 and despite being a relatively new club, the club has established itself as an active and growing club, welcoming more and more members each year.
The club is student run and it was founded to bring fellow climbers together through climbing and by providing a great social environment.
We welcome members to climb with us in a social and supportive environment. There’s something for everyone of all levels and disciplines. We offer members the opportunity to climb recreationally with a diverse group but also there is the opportunity to climb competitively.
We host a wide variety of exciting socials ranging from slacklining in the Meadows to nights out in the pub. We are a very social club encouraging our members to meet up and climb outside of our sessions.
How the Club Works:
The club has two weekly training sessions during term time with wednesdays based at Alien Rock 1 and Sundays mainly based at Alien Rock 2. We also run a number of trips to other venues across Scotland throughout the year both for training sessions and for competitions. There is also the opportunity to go climbing outdoors as part of the club, with regular outdoor sessions and trips to various locations.
We also host a variety of socials include social nights, pub quizzes, raffles, comedy nights and much more, including our legendary NRCC Pub Crawl.
Although we are a student club as part of Napier University, we welcome members whether they are Napier students or not.
