We’re very excited to be opening our first store in the Republic of Ireland this December. In anticipation, we took 5 minutes with the new Dublin Store Manager, Sharon Weldon, to find out more about her love for all things outdoor.

Question

What attracted you to Dublin?

I was born in Dublin city so it’s my hometown. Generations of my family lived in Dublin. I’m a ‘True Blue Dubliner’ (Blue is our county colour)!

Question

What do you love most about being outdoors?

The fresh air, the beautiful scenery and wildlife. It can be both peaceful and exhilarating.

Question

What's your favourite travel destination?

I love New York, such a crazy city, but Bryant Park is a beautiful oasis in the middle of it all, with skating and a Christmas Market.

Question

What's your favourite outdoor activity?

Definitely walking. I particularly love coastal walking around Malahide, Dalkey and Howth. My favourite time of day to walk is at dusk.

Question

What’s your biggest outdoor achievement to date?

Skydiving this summer, it was amazing! I wanted to go back up again straight away. I’ve got a very long bucket list and now that’s ticked I’m onto hot air ballooning!

Question

What is your favourite place in the outdoors?

I love walking in Salthill, Galway and I’m hoping to do the Camino de Santiago in 2017.

Sharon Weldon is the Manager of our new Dublin store. When she’s not on the shop floor you’ll find her exploring the coastal areas of Dublin or throwing herself out of aeroplanes.
