Founded in 1956, the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) is proudly celebrating its Diamond Anniversary in 2016 – 60 years of incredible young people giving it their all.

The DofE is the world’s leading youth achievement award, giving millions of 14 to 24-year-olds the opportunity to be the best they can be. Achieving a DofE Award is a game-changer. It can transform a young person’s life by helping them develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed in work and life.  That’s why the DofE is launching its Diamond Ambition to enable 2 million more young people to start their DofE by 2020.

To help achieve the Charity’s Diamond Ambition, and to celebrate its 60th birthday, the DofE is calling on everyone to take the DofE Diamond Challenge. The Challenge is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to take on a DofE-inspired challenge to raise money for the Charity and help it reach more vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.

To take part, Challengers choose an adventure, skill or personal challenge, pay £20 to register and then receive their exclusive Challenger Kit in the post. Challengers have from 1 January to 31 December 2016 to complete their challenge and raise a minimum of £60 for the DofE. Once completed, Challengers receive a limited edition DofE Diamond Challenge pin and certificate, along with an incredible sense of achievement for supporting young people in their area.

So the mountain you’ve always wanted to climb, the language you said you’d learn, that fear you’re determined to face – now’s the time. Seize the day, take the DofE Diamond Challenge and help transform the lives of even more young people.
